Event Description:

Enjoy a gourmet breakfast of made-to-order omelettes by The Omelette Guys, followed by a panel discussion of contracting opportunities offered by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

When businesses think of government contracting, federal contract opportunities are usually what comes to mind. But there is a world of opportunity outside of federal contracting, and this panel of experts will explore those opportunities and the differing processes for anyone interested in doing business with the State of Virginia.

Join the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce GovCon Initiative for a delicious breakfast provided by The Omelette Guys (included with cost of registration) and discover local contracting opportunities available to you and your business. Following a keynote from Nelson Moe, chief information officer for the Commonwealth of Virginia, a panel of procurement experts will discuss the differences between state and federal contracting, and answer questions from the audience to help you determine if state opportunities are right for you.

KEYNOTE PRESENTATION:
Nelson P. Moe is the chief information officer (CIO) of the commonwealth and leads the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA). As CIO, he leads an 200 person organization responsible for oversight on the $2.4B, 13 year contact for IT infrastructure services as well as governance of the Commonwealth’s IT procurements, cyber security and enterprise architecture.

PANELIST

She works with aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners to get them ready and into the Commonwealth of Virginia’s procurement system by providing training, workshops, and one-on-one counseling sessions.

Anna Urman is the Director of the Virginia Procurement Technical Assistance Program (VA PTAP). PTAP’s mission is to increase contracting activity between small businesses, prime government contractors and the federal and state government agencies. As Director, Anna maintains strategic relationships with government agencies, small business liaisons, and a variety of public-private partnerships.
