Economic Development, Infrastructure Investments, Tax and Regulatory Policies are top issues for Loudoun’s premier business group

Loudoun County, VA – The Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce has released its 2012 Public Policy Agenda, which details the Chamber’s leadership and advocacy for increased infrastructure investments and the adoption of public policies that will spur economic growth and job creation in Loudoun County and across Virginia.

The Chamber’s Board of Directors unanimously approved the 2012 Public Policy Agenda, which addresses more than a dozen broad issue areas - such as economic development, health care and education – and dozens of individual policy areas impacting Loudoun’s business climate.

Among the Chamber’s top issues for 2012 is the need for new, sustainable transportation funding,  increased focus on Loudoun’s economic development strategy and protecting Virginia’s pro-business labor laws. The Loudoun County Chamber also advocates strongly for increased focus and resources for the Commonwealth’s K-12 and higher education systems, to address the growing demand for workers with advanced training in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) areas.

Other important business issues advocated for by the Loudoun Chamber are: creating access to affordable health care coverage; improved broadband service; access to reliable energy sources; and sound tax and regulatory policies that will create renewed economic prosperity throughout Virginia.

“The Chamber’s 2012 Public Policy Agenda forcefully states the Loudoun County business agenda with a single voice. Our job is to leverage this groundbreaking document to advance sound public policies here in Loudoun, in Richmond and in Washington, D.C., that will get our nation’s economy back to creating great jobs and great businesses here in America,” said Chamber President Tony Howard.

“Our nation and our community continue to face challenging economic times, and the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce is committed to working with our elected leaders at all levels to implement the pro-business policies that will lead to new jobs, healthier businesses and a higher level of prosperity and quality of life for all Virginians,” added Howard.
