Loudoun County Chamber announces finalists for 2013 Loudoun Community Leadership Awards

Community Leadership Awards honor local organizations and individuals for their leadership in serving the needs of the Loudoun County community

 
Lansdowne, VA– The Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce today announced the finalists in their 2013 Community Leadership Awards, an initiative created to honor those individuals and organizations that have demonstrated true leadership and commitment to support the needs of the Loudoun County community and its citizens.
 
Four finalists were chosen in each of four categories:  Large and Small Organizations, Executive Leader and Young Professionals.  The finalists and winners were selected by a blue ribbon panel of business and non-profit leaders from Loudoun. 
 
The top honoree in each of these categories will be announced at the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce’s 2013 Annual Meeting and Community Leadership Awards banquet, set for January 31st at the National Conference Center in Lansdowne.
 
“Loudoun County is truly privileged to have so many outstanding leaders and organizations that are willing to invest their time, talents and treasure to serve their community.  The Loudoun County Chamber is privileged to honor these great Community Leaders for the hard work and valuable contributions they have made toward making this the finest community in our nation to live, work, raise a family and grow a business,” said Chamber President & CEO Tony Howard.

In addition, the Piedmont Community Foundation has provided funds to allow each of the four winners of the 2013 Community Leadership Awards to make a $1,000 grant to the Loudoun-based non-profit organization of their choice.
 
The finalists for the 2013 Community Leadership Awards in the Large Organization (100 employees or more) category are: 

  • George Washington University’s Virginia Science and Technology Campus
  • Howard Hughes Medical Institute/Janelia Farm Research Campus
  • Middleburg Bank
  • Miller & Smith
 
Finalists in the Small Organization (less than 100 employees) category are:

  • 100 Women Strong
  • Brambleton
  • Loudoun Insurance Group
  • Scene 2B Seen.
 
Fnalists for the 2013 Community leadership Awards in the Young Professionals category are:

  • Lyndsay Welsh Chamblin
  • Jackie Paige of Modern Mechanical
  • Jamie Pearson of Middleburg Bank
  • Victoria Rawlings of the ARGroup
 
In the final category, finalists for the Executive Leader Award are:

  • Brian Chavis of the ARGroup
  • Jared Melvin of Loudoun Insurance Group
  • Carol Barbe of Backflow Technologies
  • Mark Lenko of Semper Technologies
