SUMMARY:Birds & Habitat at the National Beagle Club
DESCRIPTION:The 500-acre National Beagle Club at the Institute Farm has been managed for many years for rabbit habitat. This is the same habitat preferred by a variety of less common bird species in the area\, such as woodcocks. Maintaining this transitional shrub habitat requires constant work to prevent its replacement by forest\, but the rewards are great! Join Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy to look at a variety of areas on the farm to see what species are present during fall migration and discuss the methods used to maintain the habitats\, including some areas planted to native warm-season grasses. Limit 15 participants. Registration required.
