SUMMARY:Envision Loudoun | Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Envision Loudoun Workshops\n\n\n\nThe Envision Loudoun Listening and Learning Workshops will kick off the county's comprehensive planning process. The input received through the workshops will be a driving force of the New Comprehensive Plan. This feedback will be compiled and analyzed in the formulation of a community vision for Loudoun County and used in the development of policies that can realize our vision for the future.\nWhat is Envision Loudoun?\n\nEnvision Loudoun is the process that will result in a New Comprehensive Plan that will serve as Loudoun County government's guiding document for land use and development for the foreseeable future. You can participate by sharing your thoughts through a broad range of community engagement opportunities. \n\nWhat Can I Do? \n\nThe County is providing five Public Workshops for the citizens of Loudoun to be a part of the process and share their feedback. As a business community we NEED you to show up to one of these local Workshops\, and share you opinions. \n\nEach one lasts roughly two hours and participants meet in small groups and are led through an information gathering process by members of the county staff and stakeholders committee. \nWhat Should I Say When I Attend? \n\nThe Chamber has and will continually seek input from our members. Here are the two issues that they are facing right now that need to be addressed in this process. \n\n\n\n1) Greater Variety of Housing Options for\n\n All Types of Employees and Residents\n\n\n	Loudoun really needs more homes and apartments that are affordable for our police\, fire and other public safety employees\, teachers\, retail and hospitality workers and those in the construction trades.\n	Long-time residents that are now downsizing empty-nesters and those recent college grads who were raised here in Loudoun.\n\n\n2) Roads that Increase Business Opportunities\,\n\n not Eliminate Them\n\n\n	We are right next to two lucrative markets with deep talent pools\, but we lack any good connections to Maryland and Prince William County. A new Potomac River Bridge crossing and the Bi-County Parkway would make it easier for my business to reach new customers and new employees.\n	Something has to be done about the daily gridlock on Route 15 and Route 9 every morning and afternoon. The traffic is not only makes it harder to recruit and retain good employees\, it is really hurting two important historic areas\, Lucketts and Hillsboro.
