SUMMARY:Mason in Loudoun Hosts China in My Eyes - Photography Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:The China In My Eyes exhibit at Mason in Loudoun includes almost 40 photographs that reflect the daily life of people in China today. The photographers have captured a wide range of experiences in their images and each photograph includes an explanatory card written in the photographer's words with details about the photograph\, their reason for taking this photograph and information about their own background. The photographers themselves represent a very diverse group of people\, ranging from high school students to retired professions\, Mason faculty and staff to local residents\, Mason students from the U.S. and abroad\, amateur and professional photographers - even a retired photographer from National Geographic magazine. A "Student Expedition Guide" was created so that families who bring their children to the exhibit can encourage them to learn more through this fun and reflective writing activity. Students who answer the questions in the guide can then get an authentic red Chinese chop mark on their guide (similar to a passport stamp) from the staff at the Mason in Loudoun office.
