Economic Growth, Workforce, Housing Affordability lead Loudoun Chamber’s list of legislative priorities for 2023

Lansdowne, VA – The Loudoun Chamber of Commerce today released its 2023 Legislative Agenda, offering a series of proven solutions to drive economic growth and support Loudoun’s employers and workforce, in the face of several ongoing challenges.

The document details the Loudoun Chamber’s official positions on a variety of economic and quality of life issues that impact the business climate and quality of life in Loudoun and across Virginia.

The Loudoun Chamber’s primary focus in 2023 will be to advance policy solutions that address the twin crises workforce shortages and housing unaffordability. The Chamber also sharpened its support for economic development investments, and to expand and focus the Commonwealth’s workforce development efforts, to better align workforce skills with employers’ needs.

“The great pandemic laid bare the fact that, while Loudoun’s and Virginia’s economies remain strong, there are significant challenges that threaten our prosperity and economic competitiveness. The Loudoun Chamber’s 2023 Legislative Agenda proposes thoughtful policy solutions that support our job-creators and workers, by making housing more affordable, in-demand job skills more accessible and economic prosperity available to all who call Loudoun home,” said Chamber President Tony Howard.

The 2023 Legislative Agenda was developed by the Loudoun Chamber’s Public Policy Committee, a group of three dozen local business and community leaders, and adopted by the organization’s Board of Directors.  The Agenda can be found at www.loudounchamber.org/public-policy
