Loudoun Chamber Foundation Awards a total of $32,000 in Grants to Eight Loudoun Nonprofits to Support Their Work in Our Community
Chamber’s charitable arm awards $4,000 to eight local nonprofits, advancing Chamber’s mission to support workers, job growth and quality of life in Loudoun
Lansdowne, VA – The Loudoun Chamber of Commerce today announced the Loudoun Chamber Foundation has awarded $4,000 to eight local nonprofit organizations who are supporting workforce development, economic growth and quality if life in Loudoun County.
Founded in 2014, the Loudoun Chamber Foundation invests in local nonprofits that are focused on the economy, workforce development, public safety and wellness in Loudoun. In that short period, the Foundation has invested a total of $164,000 into the Loudoun community.
“The entire Loudoun nonprofit community has done remarkable work to support our community, particularly during this ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Facing increased demand for their services, our nonprofits overcame their own financial challenges to serve our families, our workers and our neighbors. The Loudoun Chamber is incredibly proud to support this year’s grant recipients and to support their important work to build a strong and healthy economy and community here in Loudoun,” said Chamber President Tony Howard.
The organizations receiving 2021 Loudoun Chamber Foundation grants are:
1.A Farm Less Ordinary – A Farm Less Ordinary provides employment and a welcoming community to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
2.Crossroads Jobs – Crossroads Jobs provides individually focused employment services to Loudoun area residents who are unemployed or underemployed.
3.ECHO – ECHO is a nonprofit that offers lifelong support for adults with disabilities.
4.Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter – The Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter provides free, confidential services to adults and children who are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse.
5.Loudoun Education Foundation – Loudoun Education Foundation engages the community to invest in critical and innovative programs that foster academic success and well-being of students and teachers.
6.Loudoun Habitat For Humanity – Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
7.Loudoun Literacy Council – Loudoun Literacy Council believes that literacy remains essential to achieving community-wide aspirations of developing young learners, strengthening families, enabling parents to participate in the education of their children, and ensuring access to opportunities for economic advancement.
8.Veterans Moving Forward – Veterans Moving Forward provides service dogs and canine therapy services to veterans with physical and/or mental health challenges, at no cost to the veteran.
