Loudoun Chamber Launches 6th Annual “Healthy Business Challenge” to Honor Local Businesses That Make Employee Wellness a Priority

All Loudoun businesses welcome to complete Healthy Business scorecard to record their efforts to support employee wellness

Loudoun County, VA -- The Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce will launch of the Sixth Annual
Healthy Business Challenge on Thursday, January 11th at the Loudoun Chamber’s monthly Business Showcase Breakfast, at Belmont Country Club. This event will have health & wellness ambassadors to help businesses of all sizes get more information and begin the challenge. There will also be networking and door prizes.

The Health & Wellness Business Initiative was created to educate Loudoun businesses about the ways they can promote employee wellness and productivity, while honoring organizations that have implemented innovative programs to improve their workers’ health.

“The Loudoun County Chamber is proud to present the Loudoun Healthy Business Challenge to honor local businesses and nonprofits for their leadership on employee wellness and to provide valuable resources to other organizations that are searching for effective tools to improve the health of their most valued assets: their workforce,” said Loudoun Chamber President Tony Howard.

Research and experience have shown that a healthy workforce enables a company to have:
  • Happier, more productive employees

  • Lower healthcare costs & worker’s compensation claims

  • Less sick days

  • Better employee retention rates

“Business leaders understand the connection between employees’ health and their company’s bottom line. But knowing how to start a corporate wellness program can be a challenge. The Loudoun Healthy Business Challenge offers effective, easy to implement ideas for healthy change that any business can implement,” Howard added.
Businesses that perform well on the Healthy Business Scorecard will be honored at the 2018 Healthy Business Awards event in the Spring. The Healthy Business Challenge will end on March 31, 2018 at 5 p.m.
