PolicyMaker Series: Data Centers — Building Common Ground
Data centers are the defining industry of Loudoun's economy and, increasingly, a central subject of its public debate. This event brings both sides of that story into the same room, the economic and workforce impact the industry delivers, and the partnerships forming between data center companies and the community around them.
The morning opens with a keynote from Jennifer Taylor, President and CEO of the Northern Virginia Technology Council, presenting the findings of NVTC's 6th biennial report, The Impact of Data Centers on Virginia's State and Local Economies.
A moderated panel follows, bringing together industry, labor, education, and independent expertise to discuss workforce, energy, environmental stewardship, and what the industry's continued growth means for quality of life in Loudoun. An honest look at both the benefits and the concerns that come with the industry's growth.
Panelists:
- Danielle Nadler — Executive Director, Loudoun Education Foundation
- Don Slaiman — Director of Community Relations, IBEW Local 26
- Kirk Cameron — Founding and Managing Director, Virginia Tech Institute for Advanced Computing
- Brett Burnette — Director, Development for CloudHQ
Join us for a candid, substantive conversation about how one of the region's most consequential industries and the community around it can build common ground.
