The Plight of Migrating Birds 1 Thursday, December 11, 7:00 p.m., Morven Park Carriage Museum. A large proportion of the breeding birds of Virginia winter south of the U.S. border from Cuba to Chile. While outside of the United States, these species face many threats that they must overcome if they are to return safely. Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy presents Greg Butcher, Migratory Species Coordinator for the U.S. Forest Service International Programs, to discuss the wintering habitats and geography of several migratory birds of high conservation priority, some of the organizations working to reduce the threats to birds south of the border.
