Made in NoVA
Loudoun County Department of Economic Development and the ISC are proud to bring Made in NOVA to our community.
This event will showcase the culture, the people, and the resources available to those interested in converting ideas into tangible outcomes. We will be demonstrating how Makers are positively impacting economic growth, and how you can get involved in the Maker Community.
WHO: This event is FREE to all and open to the public. Special guests from makerspaces, schools, libraries, chambers of commerce, NASA, DoD, DHS, and local, state, and US political leaders will be attending.
WHAT: Representatives from the five main Maker Community contributors will be presenting:
- Industry - Executive from Prototype Productions Inc (PPI)
- Education - Bobby Keener, CTO of Commonwealth of Virginia Dept of Education
- Research & Development - Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Janelia Research Campus
- Arts - David Michael Wolff, Founder and Conductor of The Carolina Philharmonic and Orchestra 2100
- Community/Civic - US Government Official
Booths from a variety of representatives within these five areas will be showcasing their creations and programs, including:
- Makersmiths
- Airbus
- SLIC
- Makers in Loudoun Libraries (MILL)
- Loudoun County Public Schools, Academies of Loudoun
- FlyRaven (UAVs)
- The Carolina Philharmonic & Orchestra 2100's open source 3D instruments (i.e.; Hovalin Violin)
- TYKES
- Craftystitches
- Brian Kirk
